Parasitic contamination in the soil of beaches from Mosqueiro Island, Pará State, Brazil

Objective : We aimed to evaluate the prevalence of intestinal parasitic in soil three beaches Mosqueiro Island, located State Pará, Brazil, as well compare frequency helminths and protozoa, pathogenic non-pathogenic parasites according analyzed. Methods This is a cross-sectional analytical study conducted during August September 2019, which 155 samples were analyzed by Hoffman’s method. Results The results showed that 16.1% contaminated from 61.3% collection points. Murubira beach Farol presented highest parasites, however, there was no significant difference between beaches. Also, it observed predominance protozoa (63%) (55.6%) samples, but statistically investigated location. Endolimax nana 25.9% (7/27) hookworms 18.5% (5/27) most detected on Conclusion Thus, this contamination may be associated with lack sanitation infrastructure personal hygiene these places. Therefore, reinforce need adopt educational preventive measures reduce agents.
